Complete guide to Theia: talents, builds, and tips
Is it worth investing in Theia in Call of Dragons?
Every player should answer this question for themselves. If you use flying units, then investing in Theia is absolutely worth it — she is one of the few heroes who can both deal damage and provide protection to the squad at the same time.
However, Theia can also be useful in cavalry or infantry legions, especially as a secondary support hero. Below, we’ll cover several scenarios where Theia can fit effectively into different army compositions.
When to invest in Theia:
- You play F2P or with low spending and are looking for an affordable support hero
- You need a magic combo that provides extra survivability
- You often participate in open-field PvP, where lasting a bit longer matters
- You own Velyn, Liliya, or Atheus, who synergize well with Theia
When infantry or cavalry works:
- If Theia is not the primary hero, she simply supports the lineup: the troop type is determined by the commander.
- With a cavalry main hero, Theia adds support but does not directly affect the troop choice.
- Similarly, with an infantry or archer commander, you can pick Theia as additional support — and field troops that best fit the main hero.
Best talent builds for Theia
Using Theia as the primary commander of a legion only makes sense in two cases:
- You are a beginner and don’t yet have stronger heroes.
- You are building a support march, where Theia serves as a rage battery for the main hero.
In these cases, it is recommended to use a special talent build focused on support and rage regeneration. (See diagram below)

Best hero pairings with Theia in Call of Dragons
Theia is not tied to troop type, which makes her flexible in many compositions.
- In the open field, she is usually used as a secondary hero, so you simply bring the troop type required by the main commander.
- Once expertised, Theia is great for support marches, where troop type is also not crucial.
- Exception — when paired with a flying hero such as Kregg or Atheus, you must use flying troops to unlock the full potential.
Ffraegar
Best synergy with Theia for ranged damage builds. She adds survivability and protection to Ffraegar’s damage output. Excellent for raids and open field.
Forondil
Shines in flying squads. Cavalry suffers from low durability, and Theia compensates perfectly. Great for fast strike legions.
Atheus
A versatile choice for the League of Order faction. Both heroes use flying units, and Atheus boosts rage recovery. Here, Theia can even serve as the main hero if she is better upgraded.
Kregg
Strong synergy within Wilderburg. Kregg and Theia complement each other: shields + control + damage. Highly recommended if you use special Wilderburg flying troops.
Madeline
A sturdy and durable pairing. Madeline works well with Theia: every time a shield is applied, Theia’s passive buff triggers. Extremely resilient combo.
Liliya
A combination of damage and survival. Even without flying synergy, Theia provides valuable support and protection alongside Liliya’s active damage.
Nika
Excellent non-flying synergy. Theia provides shields that trigger Nika’s passive, while Nika deals heavy active damage. A solid choice if you are not using air units.
To unlock Velyn’s full potential, use him exclusively with magic units — otherwise, his talent and skill bonuses will not work properly.

Best battle pets for Theia
Frost Ursus — overall the best pet choice for Theia. It applies a shield first, then allows counter damage — perfectly matching Theia’s skills, no matter which hero she is paired with.
If you are using Theia in another build, consider the main hero in the pairing and choose the pet according to their specialization.
