Guide to the Fire Dragon in Call of Dragons
Fire Dragon (or Flame Dragon) — is a dangerous PvE boss with powerful area of effect (AoE) attacks and a brutal final phase. It uses abilities such as Fire Charge, Fireball and Dragon’s Roar, which can wipe out an unprepared team in seconds.
Victory requires clear coordination, smart positioning, quick reactions to phase changes, and effective use of healing.
Step 1: Positioning and aggro management
- Tank should pull the dragon to the center of the arena to give other players space to maneuver.
- It’s important that ranged classes (mage, archer) take positions behind or on the flanks.
- The Dragon has frontal cone attacks and a Tail Swipe that deal high damage to melee groups.
- Melee must be extra careful, while the tank must hold aggro and keep the dragon facing away from the team.
Step 2: First phase — Cone and AoE attacks
-
In the opening phase, the Dragon uses:
- Fire Charge — a direct arc attack
- Fireball — AoE impact
- Tail Swipe — reverse hit zone
-
What to do:
- Do not stand in front of or behind the dragon
- Keep moving — most attacks are telegraphed
- Avoid clustering to minimize group damage
Step 3: Summoning Abyss Lizards
-
When its health drops to ~75%, the Dragon takes flight, starting the summoning of Abyss Lizards.
-
These creatures:
- Explode on death, dealing AoE damage
- Drop healing mana stones — must be collected quickly
- Meanwhile, the Dragon bombards the arena with fire meteors.
Players must dodge and quickly eliminate the lizards, keeping control and space.
Step 4: Dragon’s Roar and Fire Breath
-
After the lizard phase, the Dragon returns with a new deadly combo:
- Dragon’s Roar inflicts fear — players lose movement control
- Immediately after — Fire Charge, which can deal fatal damage
-
What to do:
- Stay out of Roar’s range
- Use CC immunity skills (if available)
- After Roar — dodge the breath as fast as possible
Step 5: Phase repetition and final
-
The fight cycles between phases:
- Dragon’s AoE attacks
- Lizard summoning
- Roar and breath
-
With each cycle:
- Damage increases
- Enrage timer approaches
-
Important:
- Maintain consistent DPS
- Use mana stones strategically
- Constantly reposition to avoid AoE damage
Elite Version Strategy
In Elite mode the Flame Dragon becomes significantly more dangerous:
Parameter | Change |
---|---|
🔥 Damage | Increased by 100%+ |
🕒 Enrage timer | Reduced |
📛 AoE zones | Expanded |
🧪 Healing | Less effective |
Recommendations:
- Control positioning with absolute precision
- Assign players responsible for mana stones
- Track Roar timings and dodge in advance
Quick Checklist:
- Tank pulls dragon to the center, keeps it facing away
- Ranged — stay on the edges, at distance
- Dodge AoEs and fire waves
- Use mana stones only when necessary
- Do not stack — especially in front of or behind the dragon
